Our mission is to promote Scouting through the preservation and display of Scouting Memorabilia and the teaching of the history of Scouting in the United States.
Sean is an Eagle Scout and a former BSA District Executive. He was named Curator and the Arizona Scouting Museum’s Exhibits Specialist in 2002 and was later appointed to the Museum Board of Directors in 2018.
John Butler is the co-founder of the Arizona Scouting Museum. Having previously served as a Scoutmaster in Mesa and later an Assistant Scoutmaster in Scottsdale, John was employed as a safety professional with a major utility company in Arizona, before retiring in 2016. His Scouting memories started in 1957 in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts Explorer and Council Committees.
Eric Runberg eared his Eagle Scout rank on September 10, 1998 and his CPA 2007 and is employed as an Accountant by a major security / identity theft firm in Phoenix, Arizona.
Trudy began volunteering in Scouting while in California, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother in Pack 3643 of the Ventura County Council. Trudy later went on to serve as a Merit Badge Counselor for the BSA Grand Canyon Council in Arizona for Personal Fitness and Drama. In 2018, Trudy was nominated and elected to fill the vacant Secretary position.
Richard "Fuji" Fujimoto has retired from Professional Scouting after holding various positions both as a volunteer and Professional Scouter.
Dean Butler is the co-founder of the Arizona Scouting Museum and served faithfully in Scouting for over 25 years in a host of volunteer positions within the program, both on the unit and district levels, as well as serving a variety of roles on council committees, including coordinating logistics for National Jamboree participation and steering the council’s risk mitigation and insurance advisory committee. Dean’s Scouting background included Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts. The recipient of numerous Scouting awards and recognitions including the Silver Beaver, Dean passed away in 2019 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
